If the battery is in the car unhook the ground first in American automobiles. Reason being if you are using a wrench to unhook the positive first you could hit a piece of metal and cause a short between the car frame and positive cable in which could lead to serious damage and personal injury. If you unhook the ground first when removing the battery than there will be no short and you can remove safely. Then you can remove the positive cable. And you install in reverse. Positive first then ground. Batteries can explode and do produce a hydrogen gas when charging, so it is best practice to charge outside in a safe secluded open area. As for this charger some say hook the black up first and some say hook the red up first. I always say this is how I do things and i made this video for informational purposes and you should always follow whatever the manufacturer instructions say.
